Xiaomi 13 Pro Launched In India With Leica Cameras, But It Will Have Limited Availability

The Xiaomi 13 Pro models sold in the country will be made in India, the company noted at a briefing in New Delhi.

Handset maker Xiaomi on Tuesday launched its flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro in India. The Xiaomi 13 Pro's cameras are backed by Leica optics and it is the company's rival to flagships such as the OnePlus 11, Galaxy S23 Ultra and Apple iPhone 14 Pro, among others. However, the smartphone will be available on a limited run in India. The Xiaomi 13 Pro models sold in the country will be made in India, the company noted at a briefing in New Delhi.

According to Xiaomi India, the Xiaomi 13 Pro's manufacturing is difficult and expensive. The smartphone will be available in limited quantities and stocks may not be replenished after the initial run. This is similar to what the company did with the widely popular flagship Mi 11 Ultra, which was roughly made available in India from July to October. The smartphone was very well received in the Indian market, but it had a limited run.

Xiaomi 13 Pro price, specs and features 

The Xiaomi 13 Pro has been priced at Rs 79,999 in India and an early access sale will be live on 6 March, exclusively on Mi.com, select Mi Homes as well as Mi Studios. The smartphone is aimed at revolutionising smartphone photography; Xiaomi and Leica have joined hands through a strategic partnership in imaging technology to launch the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The flagship phone comes with Leica professional optical lenses, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a 120Hz 2K LTPO 3.0 E6 AMOLED display and Xiaomi's proprietary 120W Hypercharge technology.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is being offered in 12GB/256GB storage configuration in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black colours. There is a Rs 10,000 instant discount for buyers opting for an ICICI Bank card and there is an additional exchange bonus of Rs 8,000 on iPhones and Rs 12,000 on Xiaomi and Redmi models. 

The Xiaomi 13 Pro comes with a triple rear Leica camera setup, which has a 50MP Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor, an f/1.9 aperture, a 50MP telephoto sensor with a 3x optical zoom and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a macro mode. For selfies, there is a 32MP camera. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which also powers the new OnePlus 11. There is up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device runs Android 13-based MIUI 14 custom UI . Connectivity features include 5G, 4G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 7 capabilities and a USB Type-C port for charging.
