One UI 7 Update: Availability

Samsung has announced that One UI 7 will debut alongside the Galaxy S25 series, with an expected rollout for older devices beginning in the "first quarter of 2025."

Initially, the One UI 7 beta program will be available to Galaxy S24 series users in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US, with plans to expand to additional regions in the future.

One UI 7 Update: New AI Features

Akin to Apple's writing tools, One UI 7 now integrates generative AI to help users with tasks like summarizing, checking spelling and grammar, and formatting text into bullet points. These features can be accessed directly within any text field, without needing to switch apps.

Additionally, Samsung has introduced a new feature that automatically generates transcripts of calls in 20 different languages, making it easier to capture important information without the need for manual note-taking.

One UI 7 Update: User Interface Revamped

One UI 7 introduces several significant updates to the user interface. A new feature called the ‘Now Bar’ appears on the lock screen, providing quick access to essential information and AI tools like Interpreter and Music. Samsung claims this feature reduces the need to constantly unlock the device.

While the Now Bar will be supported on upcoming Galaxy S series models, it is unclear whether it will be available on older devices. The update also brings tweaks to the home screen and widgets. In addition, the camera interface has been reorganized, with buttons, controls, and modes now easier to locate, offering users a clearer viewfinder preview. For those using Pro and Pro video modes, the manual settings layout has been streamlined, allowing for simpler adjustments to focus and zoom.
