Samsung's Health App For Android Gets An Upgrade, You Can Now Track Your Medication On Smartphone

Users can simply enter the name of their medication into the app to receive comprehensive information, including descriptions, possible side effects, and important safety instructions.

Samsung has rolled out a major enhancement to its official Health app for Android, streamlining how users manage their health records. With this update, individuals can effortlessly access their medical history, oversee their medications, and monitor their daily food intake all within a single interface. This new capability is particularly beneficial for those managing chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, PCOS, and PCOD, facilitating adherence to their treatment plans.

What makes this feature noteworthy is its tailored design for Indian consumers. Users can simply enter the name of their medication into the app to receive comprehensive information, including descriptions, possible side effects, and important safety instructions. Additionally, the app provides warnings about harmful interactions between different drugs.

Personalised Reminders For Medications

The Samsung Health app also allows users to set up personalised reminders for medication intake and refills. These notifications can be customized to meet individual preferences, offering options that range from subtle nudges to more assertive alerts. For those with a Galaxy Watch, reminders will pop up directly on their wrist, ensuring they remain vigilant about their medication schedules, even when their phones are out of reach.

Beyond medication management, the Samsung Health app boasts a variety of advanced health features, including sleep tracking, mindfulness exercises, and alerts for irregular heart rhythms. By introducing this medication tracking functionality in India, Samsung further reinforces its commitment to providing comprehensive wellness solutions, empowering users to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

The Managing director of Samsung Research Institute, Noida, Kyungyun Roo, said, “We aim to create a comprehensive health platform that allows people to better understand and control their health by integrating devices and services. With the addition of the Medications feature for India in the Samsung Health app, we hope users will be able to manage their medicines more conveniently, improve adherence and eventually maintain better health.”

The medication tracking feature will be incorporated into the Samsung Health app in India via app updates. As stated by the tech giant, the information offered is evidence-based and licensed by Tata 1mg. If the new feature isn't visible, consider updating your Samsung Health app.
