OnePlus Addresses Motherboard Crash Issue, Asks Customers To Reach Out To Customer Service To Resolve Situation

"We know motherboard repairs can be costly, but we’re working hard to make them more affordable," OnePlus said.

OnePlus has acknowledged recent motherboard issues reported by some users of its OnePlus 9 and 10 Pro smartphones in India. Over the past week, several users have complained that their devices suddenly stopped working, with repair costs quoted by the company often exceeding the current market value of the phones.

The problem seems to predominantly affect OnePlus 9 and 10 Pro models, with many users alleging that the issue arose after installing a recent software update. As reported by News18, one user reported that OnePlus quoted a repair cost of Rs 42,000 to replace a faulty motherboard — a price nearly equivalent to purchasing a new OnePlus 10 Pro.

'We're Investigating The Cause'

In response, OnePlus released an official statement expressing regret over the inconvenience caused to affected customers. "We’re sorry to hear about some recent cases where users are experiencing certain problems with their OnePlus 9 and 10 Pro regarding the motherboard of the device. Our customers’ user experience really matters to us. While we’re still investigating the cause, we want to assure you that we’re committed to resolving this for affected users as quickly as possible," the statement read.

Recognising the high costs associated with motherboard repairs, OnePlus emphasised its commitment to providing support to those affected. "We know motherboard repairs can be costly, but we’re working hard to make them more affordable. We ask that any customers that are affected by a similar issue to get in contact with Customer Service so we can help resolve the situation as soon as possible," the company added.

The company's prompt response to these concerns is a positive step towards addressing customer grievances. OnePlus hopes that its ongoing investigation will offer relief to affected users and maintain customer loyalty, encouraging continued confidence in the brand.
