Breaking: Security Tightened Across UP Ahead of Juma-al-Vida Prayers Amid Controversy Over Roadside Namaz
Ahead of Eid, security measures have been heightened across India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh, in anticipation of the Juma-al-vida prayers. The state government has issued strict guidelines, prohibiting namaz on roads, ensuring security in sensitive areas. In cities like Sambhal, Shravasti, Amroha, and Lucknow, police forces are conducting flag marches, and drone surveillance has been implemented. The administration is taking extra precautions to prevent any untoward incidents during the prayers. However, this has sparked political debate, with some leaders asserting that if space inside mosques is limited, namaz might be performed on the streets. AIMIM leader Shoaib Jamai emphasized that such practices are common and were always conducted with the administration’s cooperation. On the other hand, Hindu religious leaders like Acharya Vikramaditya criticized the suggestion, calling it an attempt to politicize religious matters. Despite the controversy, the focus remains on maintaining law and order and peaceful religious observances.
