OnePlus 12 Launching In December: Specs, Features, More

OnePlus has confirmed on Weibo that that it would host an event for the company's 10th-anniversary celebration on December 4.

The OnePlus 12 is said to debut in the first week of December in China, as confirmed by the handset manufacturer on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo. Marking the brand's tenth anniversary celebrations, the successor to the OnePlus 11 will feature Qualcomm's latest and top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a BOE X1 OLED LTPO panel boasting 2K resolution. The OnePlus 12 is said to run proprietary ColorOS 14.

OnePlus has confirmed on Weibo that that it would host an event for the company's 10th-anniversary celebration on December 4 in its home turf in China and the OnePlus 12 is slated to debut at the event. The launch event is said to be held at 4:30am IST and 7:00pm local time.

A key highlight of the OnePlus 12 would a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens.

The OnePlus 12 is likely to come with a 6.82-inch X1 "Oriental" LTPO OLED panel, collaboratively crafted by China's display giant BOE and OnePlus. This display would boast a resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels and a peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits. This will be greater than Apple iPhone 15 Pro max's peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. Furthermore, the smartphone is set to introduce its inaugural imaging engine chip, the Display P1.

According to previous leaks and rumours, the OnePlus 12 is speculated to come with a 6.82-inch QHD+ (1,440 x 3,168 pixels) curved LTPO display. It may include a triple rear camera set-up, led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The device is rumoured to be powered by a 5,400mAh battery, with 100W wired charging support and 50W wireless charging.

The last OnePlus device to launch in India was the company's first foldable, the OnePlus Open with a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, up to 16GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage and a triple rear camera setup (48MP+64MP+48MP).

Notably, the OnePlus Open comes with 2K displays both internally and externally and comes with a relatively compact form factor compared to other foldable smartphones in the market. The OnePlus Open is priced at Rs 1,39,999 for the lone 16GB + 512GB storage variant. Powering the OnePlus Open is a dual-cell 4,800mAh battery, which is supported by proprietary 67W SuperVOOC charging. In line with other OnePlus devices, this device includes the distinctive tri-state alert slider. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. When unfolded, the OnePlus Open measures 153.4x143.15.9mm and weighs 245 grams.
