OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus 9 Pro Users Complain Of Unexpected Motherboard Crashes: What We Know So Far

The incidents of sudden crashes have sparked concern among OnePlus customers, many of whom are calling for the company to address the issue publicly.

OnePlus is encountering significant challenges with its flagship models, the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 9 Pro. Multiple users have reported severe motherboard malfunctions that have led to sudden device failures and expensive repairs.

Users have taken to the OnePlus Community platform as well as X (formerly Twitter) to voice their frustrations, describing instances where their devices abruptly became unresponsive, displaying black screens with no power.

One user shared that their OnePlus 10 Pro, which initially exhibited lagging and overheating issues, eventually shut down completely. Despite attempting various troubleshooting methods, the phone remained non-functional. A subsequent inspection at a service centre revealed a defective motherboard.

In another incident, a OnePlus 10 Pro 5G owner experienced a phone freeze following a software update, which led to the device no longer charging. The repair costs were reported to be around Rs 42,000, raising concerns about the financial burden on customers.

No Official Response Yet

These incidents have sparked concern among OnePlus customers, many of whom are calling for the company to address the issue publicly. Consumers are demanding potential remedies, such as free repairs or extended warranties, to alleviate the impact of these malfunctions.

Despite growing discontent, OnePlus has yet to issue an official statement regarding the situation. The lack of response has only intensified scrutiny over the brand’s quality control, with negative user reviews becoming increasingly common.

What To Do If OnePlus Phones Shut Down Unexpectedly

In the meantime, OnePlus has provided some general advice for users experiencing unexpected shutdowns. The company suggests checking if the issue might be related to a specific app by clearing the app's data or uninstalling and reinstalling it. For phones that have automatically restarted or shut down, OnePlus recommends backing up the device's data and reinstalling the system firmware via their official website.

For unresolved issues, OnePlus advises customers to reach out to their customer service for further assistance.

The ongoing situation has left many OnePlus users awaiting a more comprehensive response from the company as they grapple with these unexpected and costly device failures.
