Nothing Phone (2) Launching In The US This Year, But India Will Have To Wait
Nothing is going to launch the successor to Nothing Phone (1), the Nothing Phone (2) in the US.
Consumer tech brand Nothing, which currently sells its TWS buds in the US, is going to launch the successor to Nothing Phone (1), the Nothing Phone (2) in the US, the media has reported. According to the company founder and CEO Carl Pei, the purported Nothing Phone (2) would be "more premium" than the original. However, Pei is reluctant to call it a “flagship” smartphone.

The smartphone will make its debut in the US, followed by other global markets, including in India.

According to an interview by Inverse, the Nothing Phone (1) was not designed with the US market in mind as the consumer tech brand did not have the resources. Network carriers in the US make it mandatory for smartphones to go through a certification process and it is necessary that certain features must be included in the device's software.

“We couldn't do it earlier because we were only in our second year and our hands were tied building the team as we were building the products. Now as we're on a more solid footing, we can take a step forward," Pei was quoted as saying by Inverse.
Earlier last month, a report suggested that one of the biggest challenges for Nothing in the US was competing with tech giants Apple and Samsung, which makes it difficult for smaller tech firms to compete.
However, a third of the sales of Nothing's newly launched Ear (Stick) TWS earbuds currently come from the US, according to Pei.
To recall, the Nothing Phone (1) was unveiled in India last year and it was launched after much hype. It caught a lot of attention with its semi-transparent and rear side with LED pattern. The smartphone is still a unique proposition to own right now with its design and LEDs that light up in different patterns for notifications. Some of the smartphones it rivals in India, include the new Redmi Note 12 Pro+.
