The company has officially announced that the unveiling of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will take place on April 3. Ahead of the launch, the smartphone has already made its appearance on e-commerce site Flipkart. In addition to confirming the launch date, Motorola has provided insights into some of the device's key specifications.

According to the product listing, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro smartphone will be available in three distinct colour options: Purple, Black and Silver. Notably, the Purple and Black variants will boast a sleek matte finish on the back, adding a touch of elegance. Conversely, the Silver variant showcases a glossy metallic finish, with a distinct aesthetic appeal.

With the tagline "Intelligence meets Art," the phone is set to be available for purchase on Flipkart as well as through offline retail channels, as confirmed by the handset maker.

The company has also mentioned there will be a 6.7-inch 1.5K 144Hz curved pOLED display, endorsed by Pantone for the first time, globally. The display is capable of reaching up to 2000 nits peak brightness, supports HDR 10+, and features Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection for added durability.

The company is touting several AI-powered features for the Edge 50 Pro's camera, such as photo enhancement and adaptive stabilisation to mitigate the effects of shaky hands. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series was the first flagship lineup to bring intelligence Galaxy SI features.

As per a media invite earlier shared by Motorola, the theme of the event promises a blend of artistic elements and cutting-edge technology. While the release remains tight-lipped about the smartphone's specifics, it hints at forthcoming details. Highlighted phrases like "art" and "intelligence" in the press note suggest a device equipped with advanced AI capabilities. Motorola has previously teased the Moto X50 Ultra's launch in China as an "AI Mobile Phone," hinting at similar features for the Motorola Edge 50 Pro outside of China.

The anticipated release of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro in the United States is expected to see it debut as the Motorola Edge+ (2024). Reports suggest that this smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, accompanied by 12GB of RAM. The device is rumoured to sport a curved 6.7-inch display boasting a 165Hz refresh rate. Its camera setup is speculated to comprise a triple rear unit, consisting of a 50-megapixel lens, a 13mm wide-angle lens, and a 73mm telephoto shooter with up to 6x zoom capabilities. Additionally, the phone may house a 4,500mAh battery capable of supporting 125W wired charging and 50W wireless fast charging.
