Apple Bringing Back Battery Percentage Indicator To These iPhones With iOS 16 Beta
With the fifth developer beta of iOS 16, Apple is bringing a handful of changes, but the most interesting among them is the return of the battery percentage indicator.
Apple removed the battery percentage icon in 2017 when it wanted to accommodate the iPhone X’s notch and now, with the fifth developer beta of iOS 16, Apple is bringing a handful of changes, but the most interesting among them is the return of the battery percentage indicator, the media has reported.
With the iOS 16's fifth developer beta, users would be able to see a percentage indicator within the battery icon. However, several early users are not getting the battery percentage indicator on the iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13, a report by GSMArena said.
Apple iPhone users who have enrolled in the developer beta programme can add the battery percentage indicator to their status bar by opening the "Settings" menu and navigating to the Battery section.
Upon reaching the Battery section they can see a new toggle named “Battery Percentage” with an icon that is somewhat larger than the one we are used to seeing. The indicator will turn green and show a lightning symbol next to the battery percentage once the iPhone is plugged into a charger. When the iPhone is in low power mode, it would turn yellow. All the flagship iPhone models since the iPhone X's launch in 2017 have come with a notch, but the company is limiting battery percentage display to select notched iPhones. Here is the list of models that will have ability to display the battery percentage directly in the status bar.
