Instagram Down: Facebook-Owned Photo Sharing Platform Back Online After Global Outage

Several users across the world faced issues while accessing their Instagram handle on Friday (March 19). Users of the Facebook-owned photo sharing platform were unable to update their feed, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com. The WhatsApp users were also unable to send or receive messages on the platform.
The Instagram users, who are accessing the platform on Desktop, were unable to refresh their feed. The message ‘5XX error’ displayed on their desktop when they tried to access the photo-sharing platform.
Many users took to Twitter to complain after Instagram went down globally. They reported that they were unable to load the content on the photo and video sharing platform. Meme makers had a field day as they got to share rib-tickling memes after Instagram went down.
The issue started around 10:45 on Friday night in India. The users sighed a breath of relief after the services were restored within an hour.
