Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen With Sustainable Design Launched In India: Price, Features And More

Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen with a speaker that is based on the same audio technology as the original Google Nest Audio was launched in India on Wednesday for Rs 7,999.

New Delhi: Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen with a speaker that is based on the same audio technology as the original Google Nest Audio was launched in India on Wednesday for Rs 7,999. The nest Hub 2nd Gen is available in two colour options: Chalk and Charcoal and it will be up for sale on Flipkart, Tata Cliq, and Reliance Digital. According to Google India, it will become available on more platforms later.

The Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen can provide 50 per cent more bass than the original Nest Hub, according to the company.

The new Nest Hub can play music from a range of streaming audio services such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Gaana and JioSavvn. It can also play your favourite movies, videos and TV shows with a subscription from providers like Netflix, and YouTube Premium. With YouTube, ask Google to find how-to videos on just about anything, including recipes with step-by-step instructions on screen.

The addition of a third mic now lets it hear users ever better, thus, resulting in a more responsive Google Assistant.

"As we design our products, we focus on three important principles: keeping your information safe, treating it responsibly, and putting the user in control. The new Nest Hub is designed from the ground up with privacy in mind, with controls for how your data is treated, and like the original Nest Hub it does not include a camera, so you can feel comfortable putting it in any room in your home," Saurabh Arya Business Development Manager, Google Devices & Services, said in a statement.

"You can turn off the microphone by simply sliding the hardware switch on the back of the device (you’ll see an orange light to indicate it’s disabled). By default, we do not retain your audio recordings, and you can delete all your recent activity by simply saying things like 'Ok Google, delete everything I said last week.' With a simple voice command, you can also turn on Guest Mode, so that your Assistant activity won’t be saved to your Google account and personal results won’t be shown," Arya added.

Nest Hub 2nd Gen features and sustainable design

The Nest Hub 2nd Gen features an edgeless glass display that’s easy to clean and functions as a beautiful digital photo frame. And continuing Google’s commitment to sustainability, Nest Hub 2nd Gen is designed with recycled materials with its plastic mechanical parts containing 54 per cent recycled post-consumer plastic.

Nest Hub is convenient to control your smart home -- it works with hundreds of compatible devices. It helps keep the family coordinated and connected, from creating reminders and to-dos, to using the broadcast feature across Nest speakers and display around the house, to making voice calls with Google Duo.

Nest Hub is a smart display

The new Nest Hub has a floating glass display with no visible housing plastic on the front for an improved viewing experience. When you’re not using Nest Hub, it shows off your best shots from Google Photos automatically, and the colours on the screen adjust to the light in the room so your photos aren’t too bright or too dim.
