Apple iPhone 14 Pro Models To Launch With A16 Bionic Chip, iPhone 14 And 14 Max To Retain Bionic A15

Taking a break from its pattern of featuring the latest A-series chips in all its new iPhone models, Apple is going to launch the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max only with the A16 Bionic chip.

New Delhi: Taking a break from its pattern of featuring the latest A-series chips in all its new iPhone models, Apple is going to launch the Apple iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with the A16 Bionic chip while the Apple iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max will be unveiled with the same A15 Bionic chip that was launched with the previous-gen iPhone 13 lineup, according to famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

"Only two Pro models would upgrade to the A16 processor, while the 14 & 14 Max will remain the A15. All four new models will likely come with 6GB RAM, with the difference being LPDDR 5 (14 Pro & 14 Pro Max) vs. LPDDR  4X (14 & 14 Max)," Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted on Sunday.

The famed Apple analyst did not mention the reason why Apple will be deviating from its usual pattern of launching all the new iPhone models, but it is likely that the global chip and component shortage is to blame. According to the tech giant's tradition of naming iPhones, the four new iPhones could be called the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Max, the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the famed Apple analyst added.

"According to Apple's rules for naming iPhones, the four new 2H22 iPhones could be called iPhone 14 (6.1"), iPhone 14 Max (6.7"), iPhone 14 Pro (6.1”), and iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7")," Kuo posted in another tweet.

Meanwhile, Apple recently unveiled its third-gen iPhone SE (2022) at its Peek Performance event which is also its first event of 2022. The new iPhone SE (2022) features the Apple A15 Bionic SoC that is also featured in last year's iPhone 13 lineup and 5G connectivity. The prices of the new iPhone SE (2022) in India starts at Rs 43,900 for the base 64GB variant even as in the US, the cost of the new iPhone SE (2022) starts at $429 which is roughly Rs 33,000. The iPhone SE 5G will go on sale starting March 18, and its pre-orders will go live starting March 11.
