Apple is rolling out iOS 17.2.1 for iPhone users and the release notes for update in the US and many other countries mention only "important bug fixes" without giving other details. However, in China and Japan, the update notes additionally highlight that the update "resolves a problem leading to accelerated battery drainage under specific conditions", as per a computer translation of the text,vMacRumors has reported.

Brandon Butch, who manages an iOS-centric YouTube channel, brought attention to the inconsistency in release notes through a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

Notably, Apple introduced iOS 17.2 last week for iPhone users with the much-talked about Journal app, which was unveiled at this summer's WWDC annual conference and spatial video recording and various enhancements. The Journal app aims to encourage regular writing while offering a perspective as you reflect on the past. The iOS 17.2.1 brings a minor update to the iOS 17 OS released in September.

Apple rolled out iOS 17.2 to the general public last week. While many features, like the Journal app and spatial video recording, were already familiar from beta releases, the final firmware, unfortunately, missed out on two crucial features. The release of Apple's iOS 17.2 introduced exciting additions such as the Journal app and spatial video capture. The two notable missing features are two highly anticipated ones: AirPlay in hotels and collaborative playlists for Apple Music and they are officially delayed to 2024.

Initially promoted as a significant convenience for travelers, this feature is now delayed, forcing users to depend on current casting solutions or possibly outdated hotel systems. The tech giant has confirmed on the iOS 17 webpage that these features will be part of "an update in 2024" leaving the exact arrival date on iPhones uncertain.
