A fresh political controversy has erupted after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks targeting the opposition during his interaction with students at Shri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi. PM Modi described those who oppose every initiative as “Naraz Fufa,” saying they repeatedly ask why new projects are needed. He cited examples including the world’s largest statue, high-speed trains and UPI to criticize what he called a habit of opposing every new initiative. His remarks triggered a sharp response from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who accused the Prime Minister of using different labels for the opposition to divert attention from what he described as the government’s failures and anti-people policies. Kharge referred to terms such as “Naraz Fufa,” “Dimaagi Naxal,” “Urban Naxal,” “Khan Market Gang,” “Andolanjeevi” and “Parjeevi,” arguing that the names may change but the government’s policies do not. Kharge also claimed that the youth have their own report card, citing unemployment, pending recruitments, paper leaks, expensive education and fewer scholarship opportunities. PM Modi also used the term “Dimaagi Naxal” while addressing students, comparing his earlier remarks to a homeopathic dose that brings an issue to the surface before treatment. Congress MP Imran Masood strongly criticized the statement and questioned what “Dimaagi Naxal” means. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi has also stepped up his attack on BJP governments, saying students are troubled by their policies and that their demands for their future are justified. The political exchange has intensified the ongoing confrontation between the BJP and Congress.
