Apple May Launch Affordable AirPods And AirPods Max Later This Year
Apple intends to launch more affordable AirPods later this year, says a report by MacRumors.
According to analyst Jeff Pu, who specialises in companies within Apple's supply chain, Apple intends to launch more affordable AirPods later this year, says a report by MacRumors. In a recent research note with investment firm Haitong International Securities, Pu stated that a subsidiary of Apple's contract manufacturer Foxconn will be among the suppliers for the more affordable AirPods. Pu also mentioned that Foxconn is set to increase AirPods assembly at a factory in India during the fourth quarter of 2024.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is set to launch two fourth-generation AirPods models, anticipated in September or October. These models will include entry-level and mid-tier versions, both sporting a fresh design for improved fit, enhanced sound quality, and an updated charging case with a USB-C port. Additionally, the mid-tier model is expected to incorporate features like active noise cancellation (ANC) and a speaker for Find My location tracking.

While it is uncertain whether the lower-priced Apple AirPods and the entry-level fourth-generation AirPods are identical, it could to be a plausible scenario.
Meanwhile, Apple Inc.'s overseas suppliers have increased production of the company's much-anticipated new iPad models, with a launch slated for early May, says a recent report by news agency Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the situation. The upcoming release will focus on updated versions of the Apple iPad Pro and Apple iPad Air, the sources added, requesting anonymity as the plans have not been made public.
Big Changes Coming To iPad 2024 Lineup?
As previously reported by the news agency, the Apple iPad Pro models are set to get sharper OLED displays, while the iPad Air will introduce a 12.9-inch screen option for the first time. It is pertinent to note that this update will mark Apple's first revamp of the iPad lineup since 2018.
Apple recently announced it would host its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 from June 10 to June 14. This announcement comes amidst reports of potential artificial intelligence (AI) partnership discussions and speculation about substantial iOS updates being unveiled during the event.
