Elon Musk Calls Satya Nadella Out On Not Allowing New PC Setup Without Microsoft Account

Musk later shared with his followers that he found a way to access his Windows laptop PC without the necessity of creating a Microsoft account.

Elon Musk recently engaged in a discussion with Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella, expressing his concerns regarding the obligatory requirement of a Microsoft account on his newly purchased Windows laptop PC. Musk shared insights into this conversation on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) following a suggestion from a user to seek assistance from Nadella.

In a private exchange via text message, Musk conveyed his discomfort with the mandatory setup of Microsoft accounts for Windows PCs to Nadella. This conversation occurred subsequent to Nadella's announcement of Microsoft's partnership with Mistral AI. Musk redirected the discussion towards a practical issue, urging Nadella to reconsider the necessity of a Microsoft account during the setup process. He emphasised, "Satya, I don’t mean to be a pest, but please allow people setting up a new Windows PC to skip creating a Microsoft account."

Musk highlighted an issue where the option to skip creating a Microsoft account disappears when the computer is connected to Wi-Fi. He also expressed frustration over the restriction preventing the use of work email addresses for sign-up.

Following this exchange, Musk later shared with his followers that he found a way to access his Windows laptop PC without the necessity of creating a Microsoft account, thanks to a workaround suggested by another user on the X platform.
