What Is e-EPIC? Here's How To Download Virtual Voter ID Card Online

Staying true to the Centre's vision of digitally empowering voters ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission of India has introduced a digital version of the Voter ID card, known as the Electronic Election Photo Identity Card (e-EPIC). This initiative allows voters to easily download their Voter IDs in a secure PDF format, ensuring they can access their identification documents from anywhere, at any time.

What Is e-EPIC?

The e-EPIC system is designed to complement the physical Voter ID cards, offering a flexible and environmentally friendly alternative.

Voters can now store their ID on mobile devices, upload it to DigiLocker for safekeeping, or even print and self-laminate it for physical use. How To Download e-EPIC?

Downloading an e-EPIC is a straightforward process, accessible through the National Voters’ Service Portal at: https://voters.eci.gov.in/

Users can then click on the E-EPIC Download box (marked in red in the screenshot above).

Now, users can log in if they're returning users or sign up using a mobile number for first-time users.

The process requires entering the EPIC number, a unique 10-digit identifier found on physical Voter ID cards, or the Voter ID application form number for those amid registration.

After verifying the information displayed on the screen and validating their mobile number via an OTP, voters can download their e-EPIC.

Do note that the downloaded Voter ID comes in a non-editable PDF format. The reason behind this is simple - to ensure the document's security and integrity.
