The iPhone maker is running the promotional offer through Shazam's website, the media has reported. Apple Music currently offers a free subscription of 3 months for new customers; its paid subscriptions start for as low as Rs 99 in India and now, under a promotional offer, Apple, via Shazam is offering up to 5 months of free Apple Music subscription to users.
Swedish music streaming giant Spotify's monthly plan costs Rs 129. Spotify also has plans in India that cost Rs 7 for a day and Rs 25 for a week.

> Users who want to avail of the service should head over to the Shazam website: Shazam.com/AppleMusic.
> After going to the website, they would see a QR code on the webpage along with a description that reads: "Get up to 5 months free of Apple Music".
> Users can scan the QR code and see how many months of subscription they are getting. Upon scanning the QR code, they would be redirected to the Shazam website through the web browser and would have to verify identity via Apple ID or Face ID.
> Once the identity is verified, Apple would give users 2 months of additional subscription to users who have already availed of the 3-month service and those who have not, would get five months of services.
Shazam is perhaps the most popular music recognition platform that was acquired by Apple for $400 million in 2018. It surpassed 1 billion Shazams per month globally and 50 billion tags since its inception, a report said in June 2021.
