On Friday, Amit Shah launched Tamil Nadu BJP's "En Mann, En Makkal" (My land, My people) padayatra at Rameshwaram, a temple town in the southern tip of India.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Ramanathaswamy temple in Rameswaram on Saturday. Amit Shah is in Tamil Nadu as part of his two-day visit to sound the poll bugle for Tamil Nadu BJP ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024. Amit Shah launched Tamil Nadu BJP’s “En Mann, En Makkal” padayatra and also took part in a rally at Rameswaram.
On Saturday, Amit Shah took to Twitter and said, "I consider it a great privilege to perform aarti and abhishekam at Rameswaram temple. Of the 12 Jyotirlingams, this is the place where Lord Ram worshiped Lord Shiva. This temple is an expression of the antiquity of Sanatana Dharma."
"I prayed for the well-being of the people and for the prosperity of our nation," he said.

On Friday, Amit Shah launched Tamil Nadu BJP's "En Mann, En Makkal" (My land, My people) padayatra at Rameshwaram, a temple town in the southern tip of India.
After launching the event, Amit Shah addressed the gathering and slammed DMK, Congress and the INDIA coalition.
Amit Shah said, the people will remember the corruption charges in UPA regime when Congress and its ally DMK visit the public seeking votes. He listed the scams including the 2G Spectrum scam, the Common Wealth games scam and the Coal allocation scam that allegedly took place in Congress rule.
On the arrest of Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Amit Shah lambasted Stalin for having no shame as he let Senthil Balaji continue as a Minister despite being jailed.
He said that Stalin was afraid to demand Senthil Balaji's resignation since it will expose dark secrets hidden during CM's rule.
