'Shame On You': Amit Shah Asks Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Why Is Senthil Balaji A Minister Despite Being Jailed

Amit Shah slams Tamil Nadu CM Stalin over minister Senthil Balaji's arrest in money laundering case, implies fear of revealing secrets.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (July 28) launched a scathing attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, denouncing him with the words 'shame on you' in response to the arrest of state minister V Senthil Balaji by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case related to cash for jobs. Shah took a direct shot at Stalin, implying that the Chief Minister is afraid of demanding Senthil Balaji's resignation because it could lead to the exposure of dark secrets hidden within the CM's realm.

The fiery remarks were made during Shah's address at the commencement of Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai’s six-month-long padayatra, named ‘En Mann, En Makkal (My Land, My People),’ held in the sacred town of Rameswaram. Notably, this political move gains traction ahead of the crucial 2024 Lok Sabha elections, in which Amit Shah hopes to secure a resounding mandate, ushering in party leader Narendra Modi for an unprecedented third term as Prime Minister.

Shah praised Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai's 'powerful' tweet, which sent shockwaves through the administration and exposed a corruption scandal: "Annamalai's one tweet shook the DMK government's foundations and exposed the corruption file. If a tweet can shake your government, imagine what will happen now that Annamalai is leading a 10,000-kilometer yatra."

Shah further questioned Stalin's fulfilment of over 500 promises made in the DMK's election manifesto, saying, "Stalin made over 500 promises in the DMK's election manifesto. What became of them? Instead of keeping your promises, you have flooded Tamil Nadu with liquor, drugs and ganja."

Annamalai and a large number of party cadre will walk about four kilometres and end the yatra at Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple on the first day. On Saturday morning, Shah will pray at the temple before going to the home of a party worker in Erakadu.
