Thirumahan Everaa, Erode MLA And Son Of Ex-Min EVKS Elangovan, Dies Due To Cardiac Arrest
Thirumahan Everaa was 46 years old.
Chennai: Congress sitting MLA from Erode East constituency Thirumahan Everaa died due to cardiac arrest at a private hospital on Wednesday. He was 46 years old.
He is the son of former Union Minister and senior Congress leader EVKS Elangovan.
On Wednesday, Thirumahan Everaa suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to a private hospital in Erode. However, Thirumahan died without responding to treatment.
Thirumahan Everaa won Erode (East) seat by contesting from Indian National Congress in 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly election. He received 44.27% of the total vote share. He defeated AIADMK candidate M. Yuvaraja who received 38.41% vote share in the election.

Thirumahan Everaa is the great-grandson of 'Periyar' EV Ramasamy.
Thirumahan Everaa's family has been in politics for many generations now. Thirumahan's father Erode Venkata Krishnasamy Sampath (EVKS) Elangovan was a Lok Sabha member. He is currently a member of INC.
EVKS Elangovan's father Sampath was also into politics and he was one of the political heirs of EVR Periyar. EVK Sampath was a former MP from Namakkal constituency. He was also the nephew of Periyar.
Elagovan, who was in Chennai, is currently travelling to Erode.
Leaders have also joined together to condole the demise of the MLA. Congress leader Sanjay Dutt said, "Am shocked to learn about the sad demise of TN #Congress MLA @thirumahanevara. Tamil Nadu CM Stalin also expressed his condolences to the kin of Thirumahan Everaa. He recalled Thirumahan's visit to his office along with his son who won in a horse riding race.
