Tamil Nadu: Chennai Student Ends Life After Being 'Humiliated' By Group From Another College

Chennai: A 21-year-old college student ended his life after sending a voice message to his friend about the humiliation he faced because of the members of a rival gang from another college in Chennai. A few minutes before his death, the student sent a voice note saying that he does not want to live on the alms given by the rival gang.
According to a report on Times of India, A student studying MA History in Presidency College and the student reportedly took the extreme decision due to a clash.
The police said that he sent a voice note to his friends telling them that he wants to end his life since he did not want to live on the alms given to him by the students of Pachaiyappa's College. In the background of the voice notes, he sent to his friends, jarring train horns could be heard, said police.

Upon receiving the message, the students were not sure about the audio and thought that he was just returning to his home near Arakkonam on the train. Kumar also reached home in a while.
However, after some time, Kumar once again left his home on Tuesday after informing his mother that he should attend a wedding. Later, he did not return home and the family started to search. They then finally recovered his body on Wednesday.
Talking about the demise of the student, the police said that the death could be due to clashes on the buses between the students of the city colleges.
They said, Kumar told about the ordeal to one of his friends but there is no clarity on the miscreants yet. Hence, they have decided to question a few more people involved in the incident.
