IMD Forecasts Fresh Spell Of Rain In Parts Of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry Tomorrow
The IMD also said that thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
The India Meteorological Department predicted that parts of Tamil Nadu will experience rainfall for the next five days due to cyclonic circulation on Saturday. The IMD said that light to moderate rainfall coupled with thunderstorms and lightning will prevail one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.
The IMD said, “Yesterday’s (Friday) cyclonic circulation over southeast Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood now lies over central parts of south Bay of Bengal & adjoining central Bay of Bengal between 4.5 & 5.8 km above mean sea level. Light to Moderate westerlies prevails over the subdivision in the lower tropospheric levels.”
Due to cyclonic circulation, IMD said that Light to moderate rain and heavy rainfall with thunderstorm & lightning is likely to occur at a few parts of Tamil Nadu. IMD said, “Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms & lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal area. Heavy rain is likely to occur at one or two places over Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai districts of Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Karaikal area.”
IMD said that the rainfall will continue till July 5. The IMD also said that thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
In Chennai, IMD said, "Sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy. Light/Moderate rain with thunderstorms & lightning is likely to occur in some areas. Maximum temperature is likely to be around 37 °C and minimum temperature is likely to be around 27-28 °C.”

Meanwhile, the monsoon intensified in Kerala bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state. The IMD has also issued yellow alert in four districts including Alappuzha, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. The state is likely to witness rainfall till Monday.
