Tamil Nadu Govt Draws Ire For Increasing Milk Price By Rs 12 Per Litre, State BJP To Stage 'Massive' Protests

BJP chief Annamalai earlier slammed the DMK government for its inefficiency and earlier demanded to roll back milk price hike

Days after the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu increased the state-run Aavin milk price by Rs 12 per litre, state BJP President K Annamalai asserted that the party will stage massive protests expressing people's anger for the price rise across the state.

BJP chief Annamalai earlier slammed the DMK government for its inefficiency and earlier demanded to roll back milk price hike.

"BJP TN is conducting massive protests expressing people's anger across the state. After DMK came to power, we only got property tax rise, current bill rise, milk price rise-this time, they raised it by Rs 12 per litre. People are forced to pay for their inefficienc," said news agency ANI quoting TN BJP chief Annamalai.

The government-run milk producer, Aavin, on Thursday announced the hike of milk price by Rs 12 per litre. Earlier on November 3, the Tamil Nadu government has increased the milk procurement by Rs 3 per litre. Following this Aavin has increased the price of the premium segment of milk by 25 per cent.
