DMK, Allies Submit Memorandum To President Murmu Asking For Dismissal Of Governor RN Ravi
The DMK leaders alleged that the Governor has been delaying nod for the bills and thereby interfering in administration
DMK along with its allies in Tamil Nadu have signed and submitted a memorandum to President Daroupadi Murmu asking for the immediate withdrawal of Governor RN Ravi from his post.
The DMK leaders alleged that the Governor has been delaying nod for the bills and thereby interfering in administration. "We place on record our dissatisfaction that the work being done by the Tamil Nadu Government and the Legislature is being obturated by the office of the Governor by openly contradicting its policy in public and unduly delaying assent to Bills," DMK said in the memorandum to the President.
The memorandum further stated that the Governor has not been performing his primary function in the state.
Alleging that Governor Ravi lacks faith in the secular ideals of the country and has often engaged in divisive rhetoric, it stated, "The Governor has been unabashedly propagating dangerous, divisive, religious rhetoric in public, which is unbecoming of a Governor.
"His speeches are made with a calculated intent to incite hatred and create communal unrest among the people. Recently he made a comment that 'India is dependent on one religion like the rest of the world'."
Clearly, RN Ravi has violated the oath he took under Article 159 to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and the law and to devote himself to the service and well-being of the people of Tamil Nadu, the memorandum signed by DMK MPs and its allies said.
