Tamil Nadu Govt. Announces Rs. 10 Lakh For COVID Succumbed Journalists
Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced to provide Rs. 10 lakh to each family of the journalists who lost their lives while covering news during the pandemic.
Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced Rs 10 lakh will be provided to each family of journalists who lost their lives due to the corona epidemic.
CM Stalin ordered a special incentive of Rs. 5,000 for journalists Rs. 10 lakhs as compensation for those journalists who infected with coronavirus and died while covering news.
In this connection, in the message issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu, in the midst of various difficulties during the corona epidemic, journalists have been playing an important role in bringing useful information and news to the people and raising awareness.
In order to bring all the news to the public as a bridge between the people and the government which is functioning well at this time, journalists, photographers, and cinematographers working in registered newspapers, televisions, and periodicals in all the districts (those who are recognized by the government in any form such as Government Identity Card / Identity Card issued by the District Collector / Free Bus Pass Card), will get special incentives as TN govt. orders
During the last regime, the incentive given to journalists was 3,000 rupees. After considering the request to increase this, the Chief Minister has ordered an increased incentive for media persons from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000.
During the last regime, the government had issued compensation of Rs 5 lakh to government-recognized journalists working in the press and media persons who lost their lives due to corona infection.
In addition, the Chief Minister has asked the press people to be careful and carry out their work in a safe manner during this epidemic.
