Tamil Nadu: Former AIADMK Minister Jayakumar's Bail Plea Dismissed
The Chennai police yet again arrested him in another case on Wednesday
Chennai: The Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Chennai on Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of former AIADMK Minister Jayakumar in a case related to the attack of a DMK member while the polling was ongoing for the local body elections on Saturday. The AIADMK leader was arrested for reportedly hitting a DMK worker by claiming that he had attempted to cast a bogus vote.
According to a report on ABP Nadu, the bail plea of Jayakumar came up for hearing before Magistrate Dayalan on Wednesday. The Magistrate heard the arguments of the case and dismissed the petition. The judge then remanded Jayakumar in judicial custody till March 9.

Earlier, the purported video of the incident went viral on social media in which the Minister was seen holding the DMK cadre by the collar at a polling booth in Chennai.
Based on the complaint from the DMK functionary on Monday, the former AIADMK Minister D Jayakumar was arrested by Chennai police for reportedly attacking the DMK cadre by claiming that he was bogus voting during Tamil Nadu Local Body Polls on Saturday. The police also booked him under various sections of IPC for poll-related violations.

On Wednesday, Chennai police yet again arrested him even as the bail plea was listed for hearing in another case for his involvement in a road roko. The police booked him under charges of disobedience to the order of a public servant.
