Tamil Nadu: Boy Assaulted Grievously For Resisting Sexual Advances Of A Gang

Chennai: A nine-year-old boy from Maduravoyal in Tiruvallur district in Tamil Nadu is struggling for life after a four-membered gang assaulted him for resisting their sexual advances on Saturday. Police officials have detained three people including a minor for inquiry.
According to a report in the Times of India, the victim was a resident of Maduravoyal and was a student of class IV in a government school. A police official said that the student had been selling snacks near a theatre in the neighbourhood in the evening hours.
Quoting a police official, the report said that he went to his usual spot to sell snacks on Saturday evening and as he did not return home beyond the usual time, his family members filed a complaint with Maduravoyal police. Later that night, he was found near Maduravoyal flyover with serious injuries by a police special team and he was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General hospital for treatment, the report added.

The official, according to the report, said that preliminary investigation revealed that four men approached the victim and offered to buy all his snacks if he agreed to go with them. The boy in turn had gone with them assuming he could return home earlier, the official added.
The official further said that the gang had taken him to an isolated place and attempted to force him into homosexual activities but as the boy resisted, the men had attacked him by hurling stones and beating with logs, the report said.
The report said, police identified the three men including a minor after going through the CCTV footage collected from the spot and the preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were under the influence of ganja when they attacked the boy. Police have filed a case and further investigation is on.
