Five Killed As Speeding SUV Loses Control & Collides With Two-Wheeler In Tamil Nadu's Madurai — WATCH

The mishap also claimed the life of Pandi, a guava seller who was traveling on the two-wheeler.

Five people were killed after a speeding SUV collided moped scooter at Sivarakottai near Tirumangalam on the Virudhunagar-Madurai highway in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

According to ANI, Madurai district SP Arvind said, "Five people, including four members of the same family from Madurai's Villapuram, were killed when a speeding SUV collided with a moped at Sivarakottai near Tirumangalam on the Virudhunagar-Madurai highway."

The deceased have been identified as Kanagavel, Krishnakumari, Pandi, Nagajothi, Shiva Aadhamika and Shiva Sree.

Kanagavel, accompanied by his wife Krishnakumari, cousin Nagajyoti, and a child, was traveling in their car at the time of accident. The mishap took place as Kanagavel, driving towards Madurai, attempted to avoid colliding with a two-wheeler. However, he lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into the barrier wall in the middle of the road. Later, the car overturned and hit another vehicle.

The mishap also claimed the life of Pandi, a guava seller who was traveling on the two-wheeler.

The Kallikkudi police have filed a case under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in connection with the incident.
