Stalin Announces Rs 25 Lakh Each For 9 ISRO Scientists From TN, To Launch Scholarship In Their Names
Honouring ISRO scientists, Stalin said that the event exemplified social justice, as most of them hail from humble backgrounds and government schools.
In a move aimed at honouring the significant contributions made by space scientists from Tamil Nadu to the country, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh to each of the nine scientists affiliated with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) from Tamil Nadu. During the event, Stalin also launched a scholarship program in the name of these visionary scientists.
Stalin said that he was honoured to felicitated these space scentists from Tamil Nadu who have etched their names in the history of ISRO. Taking to X, he said, "As a token of our appreciation, the Tamil Nadu Government is awarding each of these scientists Rs. 25 lakhs, recognising their immense talent and achievements."

Stalin said that the event exemplified social justice since most of them hailed from humble backgrounds and received education from government schools. Also, two women among the lot inspire all of us, he said.
Announcing scholarships, Stalin said, "To nurture more young talents, I am pleased to announce scholarships in the names of these visionary scientists. 🎓 Let us envision a future where the skies hold no limits for Tamil Nadu."
Regarding the event, A Rajarajan, Director of Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota said, "I feel what I have done is a very small thing...for the building of the nation. On this occasion, when you get invited and felicitated by the Chief Minister...I feel privileged and humble. It also gives that we have to work harder to keep this recognition and make sure that the coming generation gets skilled properly in all so that we become a powerful India in the manufacturing area."
Aditya L-1 Project
During the event, Aditya L-1 Project Director Nigar Shaji gave an update on India's mission to the sun. Project Director of Aditya L-1, Nigar Shaji said, "Aditya is going as planned, it has also travelled 9.2 lakh kilometres from the earth. We are planning some correction operations in November followed by the insertion in January...Once it starts moving into the halo orbit, then one by one the commissioning of the payloads will start...It will take 2-3 months for commissioning, then it will start its normal operations."
