Six Killed In Accident While Returning From T'malai After Karthigai Deepam Festivities, TN CM Announces Solatium

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced Rs 1 lakh compensation to the kin of six people who were killed in a road accident while returning from Thiruvannamalai at Madhuranthangam on the Tiruchi-Chennai highway on Wednesday. The accident took place when two trucks collided with a mini truck while they were returning to Chennai after Karthigai Deepam festivities in Thiruvannamalai.
According to IANS, the six deceased persons were identified as Chandrashekhar (70), Damotharan (27), Sasikumar (34), Shekar (55), Ezhumamial(65) and Gokul (30).
Five others persons were also seriously injured in the mishap that took place at 4 am on Wednesday.
Talking to IANS, the police said, the mishap took place while a mini truck hit a truck which in turn hit another truck from behind on the highway.
In the impact, six persons who were traveling in the mini truck died on the spot. Five others who sustained injuries were admitted to a hospital. Currently, all the injured have been admitted to Chengalpattu Government Medical College Hospital.
All the members are from Pozhichalur near Chennai.
Meanwhile, CM Stalin ordered a solatium of Rs 1 lakh to the kin of each of the deceased on Wednesday.
In an official release, Stalin deputed Minister for MSMEs Tha Mo Anbarasan to rush to the spot and render all assistance. He also ordered the best treatment for the injured and ordered financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the families of each of the four men who were killed in the accident, said a report on PTI.
CM Stalin also conveyed his condolences to the deceased.
