Watch | Ex-AIADMK Minister Natham Viswanathan Suffers Fall While Inspecting Work Of General Council Meet

Natham Viswanathan recently made news for shifting his support from AIADMK treasurer O Panneerselvam's camp to Edappadi Palaniswami just ahead of the AIADMK general council meeting held on June 23.  

Chennai: Former AIADMK Minister Natham Viswanathan slipped and fell on the ground after stepping on a flex in Vanagaram on Friday. The incident took place while Natham Viswanathan and other top AIADMK leaders were at Srivari Thirumana Mandapam in Vanagaram to inspect the arrangements done for AIADMK general council meet scheduled on July 11. 

The Minister, however, escaped unhurt. 

Natham Viswanathan is the organisation secretary of AIADMK since 2018. However, Natham Viswanathan who was considered as the right-hand man of AIADMK treasurer O Panneerselvam made news after he shifted his support to Edappadi Palaniswami just ahead of the AIADMK general council meeting held on June 23.

Until last month, Natham Viswanathan was viewed as a confidante of OPS since Natham stood with OPS even during the time of 'Dharma Yudham' held against the then AIADMK government. However, he shifted his support to EPS camp soon after the demand over single leadership cropped up in AIADMK. Along with Viswanathan, several other AIADMK senior leaders shifted their support to OPS.

Meanwhile, Natham served as the Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise in 2011-2016 and Minister for Transport in 2001-2006.

Natham Viswanathan has won landslide victory from his hometurf Natham in Dindigul in 2001, 2006 and 2011 Assembly Elections.
