PM Modi To Visit Karnataka, Tamil Nadu On January 19, To Inaugurate Khelo India Youth Games 2023

During the visit to Tamil Nadu, PM Modi is also expected to visit Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam and Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram on January 20 and 21.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on January 19. On Friday, Prime Minister will inaugurate the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Centre and launch the Boeing Sukanya Programme in Bengaluru at around 2:45 PM. Thereafter, at around 6 PM, Prime Minister will participate in the opening ceremony of Khelo India Youth Games 2023 in Chennai.

During the visit to Tamil Nadu, PM Modi is also expected to visit Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam and Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram on January 20 and 21.

PM In Bengaluru

In Bengaluru, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the state-of-the-art Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) campus constructed with an investment of Rs. 1,600 crores. The 43-acre campus represents Boeing’s largest investment outside the USA. The new campus is poised to become a cornerstone for partnerships with the vibrant startup, private, and government ecosystem in India, fostering the development of next-generation products and services for the global aerospace and defense industry, according to PIB.

PM Modi In Chennai 

Prime Minister Modi will be the Chief Guest for the opening ceremony of Khelo India Youth Games 2023 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. This edition of the Games marks the first time they are being held in South India, spanning four cities in Tamil Nadu – Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, and Coimbatore – from January 19th to 31st, 2024.

The Games will witness over 5,600 athletes participating in 26 sporting disciplines, including traditional sports like Kalaripayattu, Gatka, Thang ta, Kabaddi, and Yogasana, across 15 venues for 13 days. A unique addition to this edition is the introduction of Silambam, a traditional sport of Tamil Nadu, as a demo sport.

During the inaugural ceremony, the Prime Minister will also launch and lay the foundation stone for broadcasting sector projects worth approximately Rs 250 crore. This includes the launch of the revamped DD Podhigai channel as DD Tamil, 12 Akashvani FM projects in 8 states, and 4 DD transmitters in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for 26 new FM transmitter projects in 12 states.
