Kallakurichi Student Death: CB-CID Asks Family To Collect Body As Second Autopsy Is Over

The second post-morterm of the girl was conducted on Tuesday without the presence of the doctor suggested by the girl's parents.

Chennai: The CB-CID posted a notice on the house of the deceased girl in Periyanasalur village of Cuddalore district informing the family that the autopsy was over and asking them to collect her body for final rites.

In a tweet, ANI said, "CB-CID put up a notice outside the deceased girl's house in Periyanasalur village in Cuddalore district informing her family about the completion of the postmortem and asking them to collect her body for final rites."

The second post-morterm of the girl was conducted on Tuesday without the presence of the parents or the doctor suggested by them.

The autopsy was held on Tuesday after SC refused to accept the plea of the deceased’s father who sought to include a doctor of his choice on the panel constituted by Madras High Court to conduct the second post-mortem on the girl's body.

Meanwhile, as of Tuesday, the police arrested 302 people in connection with the violence that broke out in Chinnasalem of the Kallakurichi district after the news of the girl’s death broke out on Saturday. The police also arrested the headmaster, secretary and principal of the school, who are suspected to be the culprits in the case.

On Tuesday, TN DGP Sylendra Babu formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the riots. The TN police also transferred Kallakurichi Collector PN Sridhar and replaced him with Sravan Kumar Jatavath. They also replaced Kallakurichi SP Pakalavan with S Selvakumar.

The case pertains to the mysterious death of a Class 12 student in Kallakurichi. While the school alleged that the girl killed herself, the family members raised suspicion about the death. The first autopsy report also revealed that the student died of hemorrhage and shock due to multiple injuries.
