Jallikattu 2022: Spectator Gored To Death In TN's Pudukottai District
The medical team immediately arrived to treat him but he died on the spot.
Chennai: A spectator was gored to death during a Jallikattu event held in Pudukottai district on Friday. While the spectator was watching the event from outside the arena a bull from the entry point ran and hit him on his chest.
According to a report on IANS, the 20-year-old youth came to watch the Jallikattu event organised as part of the annual Mathumariamman temple festival. In the event, 718 bulls and 300 tamers participated in the event.
The Illupur police said, the deceased person has been identified as V Pandimurugan from Keezhapatti in Tiruchi district. On Friday, Pandimurugan was watching jallikattu along with a few other spectators from outside the arena when a bull suddenly ran to him from the entry point and hit him on his chest.

Nearly 50 persons suffered injuries in the event and all of them were treated at the outpatient facility in the hospital.

On January 14, a 19-year-old spectator was gored to death during the traditional Avaniyapuram jallikattu which was held amid coronavirus restrictions in the state. The spectator was identified as T Balamurugan of Avaniyapuram. In the second death, another spectator died after a bull rammed into him while he strayed into the collection point of the pulls in Tiruchy. The deceased was identified as S Vinoth Kumar from Navalur in Tiruchy.
