'I'll File An Appeal': VK Sasikala On Court Order Dismissing Plea Against Her Removal As AIADMK General Secretary

Sasikala served as the General Secretary of AIADMK for a short period after the demise of former CM J Jayalalithaa.

Chennai: After a city court dismissed her petition, expelled AIADMK leader VK Sasikala said that she would go for an appeal in Madras High Court against the order. A civil court on Monday upheld her removal as AIADMK General Secretary and from AIADMK general council in 2017.

According to a report on Times of India, Sasikala talking to reporters in Tiruchengode said that she will file an appeal once she gets full details of the order.

Further, Sasikala said, after Puratchi Thalaivar MG Ramachandran was expelled from DMK he floated AIADMK and formed its bylaws. As per the bylaws, the cadre can decide the general secretary of the party and a decision should not be taken with just the involvement of four or five people in removing a functionary.

In India, no other party has a similar bylaw so everything will happen as per the wish of the cadre, she said.

On Monday, 4th additional district sessions court in Chennai dismissed the plea filed by late CM J Jayalalithaa's aide VK Sasikala after accepting the plea filed by AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and Opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami.

However, the order of the court is a huge setback to Sasikala since a few party members expected the return of the leader into the party after the poor performance of AIADMK in the Tamil Nadu urban local body polls.

Sasikala served as the General Secretary of AIADMK for a short period after the demise of former CM J Jayalalithaa.
