Hindu Makkal Katchi Worker Murdered In Madurai, Probe On

Chennai: A Hindu Makkal Katchi worker was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in Madurai on Tuesday night. The incident took place while the victim was returning home from his jewellery shop at 8.15 pm on Tuesday.
According to ANI, Madurai police said, “A Hindu Makkal Katchi functionary was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Madurai on January 31. The deceased has been identified as Manikandan (41). He was stabbed to death when he was going home after closing his jewellery shop.”

On Tuesday, while Manikandan, an owner of a jewellery store, was returning home on his two-wheeler. A group of unidentified men with arms stopped him and started to violently stab him on MK Puram Main Road at Jaihindpuram. After he fell on the floor, the men fled the scene.
The passersby immediately rushed Manikandan to Government Rajaji Hospital but the doctors declared him dead, said a report on Times of India.

Following this, Jaihindpuram police registered a case and started investigating into crime. The police also arrested five people in connection with the case.
Last year, a Hindu Munnani worker was killed in a feud at Udumalpet in Tiruppur district. The deceased was identified as S Kumaravel of Eripalayam. He was working as the urban secretary of the party at Udumalpet. The argument over repaying the loan turned into a fistfight and Kumaravel was beaten to death. Later, police formed three special teams and arrested two accused in the case.
