Ex-TN CM EPS, 5 Others Booked For 'Attacking' Passenger Who Raised Slogans Against Him At Madurai Airport

A case has been filed against six people including former Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi Palaniswami for allegedly attacking a passenger who raised slogans against him at Madurai airport.

New Delhi: A case has been filed against six people including AIADMK Interim General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami for allegedly attacking a passenger who raised slogans against Palaniswami at Madurai airport, reported ANI.

NDTV reported that the passenger allegedly shared a Facebook live stream in which he could be heard accusing EPS of 'betraying' VK Sasikala, a close confidante of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha.

The entire incident occurred when EPS was travelling from Chennai to Madurai to attend a party meeting in Sivaganga district. According to an NDTV report, when the former CM got on a shuttle bus at the airport, the man began recording him and the security personnel around him.

The man reportedly accused EPS of betraying Sasikala and the people of southern Tamil Nadu by allotting 10.5 per cent reservation to the Vanniyar community.

Further investigation is underway.
