DMK MLA Booked For Threatening CEO Of Auto Firm After Video Goes Viral

DMK MLA Booked: DMK MLA SR Raja has been booked under charges of trespassing and criminal intimidation of IPC.

Chennai: Tambaram police booked DMK MLA SR Raja under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for threatening the CEO of an auto firm in Tamil Nadu. He was booked under charges of trespassing and criminal intimidation after a video went viral on social media. 

According to a report on India Today, SR Raja recently visited the company on the behalf of RK Sharma, who has been accused of cheating by the management of the firm. The MLA after his arrival reportedly met the officials of the firm and started to scold and threaten them.

Following this, Krishnamoorthy, the CEO of Daejung Moparts Pvt Ltd gave a complaint to the police. Based on the complaint, Tambaram police registered a case under sections 294, 447 and 506 (I) of the Indian Penal Code.

A video of the incident also went viral on social media. 

Condemning the incident, Annamalai said, "In the Dravidian Model Aatchi of @arivalayam, I wonder which is a bigger threat to people - L&O breakdown during DMK rule or L&O breakdown DUE to the DMK rule? (Seen in the video: DMK MLA SR Raja threatening and verbally abusing employees of a factory in Maraimalai Nagar)."

The incident has caused embarrassment to DMK once again just as Minister Ponmudy received flak on Monday. The Minister created a stir after he asked a woman panchayat union chairperson about her caste while addressing an event.
