Cyclone Michaung: TN CM Stalin Contributes Month's Salary For Relief, Calls On MP & MLAs To Join Cause

Tamil Nadu CM Stalin also thanked everyone who contributed to the CM relief fund till now.

Amidst the ongoing efforts to address the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister MK contributed one month of his salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund dedicated to cyclone relief. In addition to his contribution, the Chief Minister called upon Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly to join hands in contributing towards the relief efforts. 

Taking to X, CM said, "I donate my one month salary to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for Michaung cyclone disaster recovery. I request all the members of the Legislative Assembly and Parliament to provide funds."

In the release, the CM said that over 1 crore people have been affected by the natural disaster. The CM stating the severe damages caused by the cyclone urged the people to help in whatever way they could. Further, he thanked everyone who contributed to the CM relief fund till now.

Even while rescue efforts continue, the CM stated that portions of the city are gradually returning to normal.

Several individuals and organisations have been contributing to the relief fund. Tamil Nadu government also announced WhatsApp number 7397766651 to contribute to cyclone relief. The state has also formed a committee of senior officials to oversee the relief works. 

Meanwhile, train services from Chennai Central and Chennai Egmore, the two major terminals serving the city, were restored from Thursday. The railways said, barring a few changes in the pattern of services most of the mail/express services from Chennai Central will be fully functional in all directions from Friday.
