CSK Wins IPL 2023: TN CM Stalin Praises MS Dhoni, Hails Him As 'Man With A Plan'

Stalin also said, "This is cricket at its very best."

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin congratulated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on their 5th IPL win on Tuesday. The Chief Minister also praised the CSK captain MS Dhoni as a ‘man with a plan’.

After the win, CM Stalin said, "Congrats to the yellow brigade of CSK on their 5th IPL Trophy under the man with a plan for every situation, MS Dhoni! This is cricket at its very best and Jadeja who held his nerve in the face of adversity has sealed a historic victory for CSK."

MK Stalin has previously attended multiple CSK matches held at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. He has also been seen sporting CSK jersey at the stadium. 

Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also congratulated the 'Yellove' team. Udhayanidhi said, "My hearty congratulations to team @ChennaiIPL for winning the IPL Cup for the fifth time. The outstanding captaincy of @msdhoni and the stunning finish by @imjadeja made #CSK register its epic performance once again in the #IPL2023Final.#Yellove."

This is the fifth IPL win for CSK in 14 seasons. In one of the longest finale matches, CSK defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets. The game was a thriller until Ravindra Jadeja hit a four in the last ball which sealed the historic win of Chennai. 

The Lions played for 15 overs since the heavy rains played a spoiled sport. The Chennai got a revised target of 171 in 15 overs; 4 overs of powerplay and a maximum of 3 overs per bowler.
