AIADMK Founding Day: Sasikala Unveils Inauguration Stone Claiming As General Secy While EPS-OPS Hoist Party Flag
Sasikala unveiled an inauguration stone for the 50th founding day anniversary of AIADMK with the stone having her name engraved on it as the general secretary of AIADMK.
Chennai: On the account of AIADMK Founding Day’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, former AIADMK general secretary Sasikala attempted to claim leadership of the party even as the present AIADMK coordinators Edappadi Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam conducted celebrations in the party headquarters in Royapettah on Sunday. Sasikala, who visited Jayalalithaa and MG Ramachandran's memorial on Saturday, went to MG Ramachandran's memorial house in T Nagar on Sunday.
The former AIADMK leader, who was expelled from the party, hoisted the AIADMK party flag and garlanded MG Ramchandran's portrait at his memorial house. She then unveiled an inauguration stone for the 50th founding day anniversary of AIADMK with the stone having her name engraved on it as the general secretary of AIADMK.

Meanwhile, AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday hoisted the party flag at the AIADMK headquarters in Royapettah. They also garlanded the statues of former Tamil Nadu Chief Ministers MG Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa. Later, OPS and EPS leaders along with other AIADMK members visited Jayalalithaa and MGR's memorial on the Founding Day.
Addressing the reporters, former Tamil Nadu Minister Jayakumar said, “Can you become a general secretary if you engrave your name to the inauguration stone?”
Meanwhile, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) was founded on October 17, 1972 by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MG Ramchandran. On Sunday, the leaders celebrate the fifth founding day anniversary of the party. Yet, the times are turbulent for the Dravidian major since they witnessed huge loss in the recently concluded local body polls and the factional issues with VK Sasikala, who is also the aide of Jayalalithaa, still persists leading to an internal rift within the party.
