'When Indira Gandhi Reached Moon': CM Mamata's Fresh Blooper After Rakesh Roshan Gaffe. VIDEO

Days after saying 'Rakesh Roshan reached the Moon' Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has now said that Indira Gandhi asked Rakesh about India looks from space when 'she reached the Moon'.

India's Chandrayaan-3 was a success the countrymen had been waiting for decades. The glory was followed by numerous wishes and applauds to the India Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Well, what also hit the headlines was a gaffe when Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said that former PM Indira Gandhi asked 'Rakesh Roshan' (Bollywood director and actor) how India looks from space when he reached there. Now, Mamata Banerjee has said that 'when Indira Gandhi reached the Moon she asked how India looks from space'.

A user shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) in which the CM can be heard speaking in Bangla.

"As per Didi "1st Rakesh Roshan reached the Moon, Indira Gandhi asked Rakesh how India looks from the Moon", Now "When Indira Gandhi reached the Moon, She asked Rakesh how India looks from the Moon"," the user captioned the video.

Earlier on Wednesday, on the of Chandrayaan-3's successful landing on the Moon, BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla shared a video of Chief Minister Banerjee.

"Had No Clue Indira Ji Had This Conversation With Rakesh Roshan," he wrote.

Notably, Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian to have traveled to space in 1984. The astronaut spoke to then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from space during a live televised news conference.

The then-PM asked Sharma, "Upar se Bharat kaisa dikhta hai aapko?" (How does India look like from space?). He responded by saying, "Saare jahaan se achcha" (Better than the whole world).

Besides CM Mamata, a Rajasthan minister's video also went viral after he congratulated the "passengers" on the Chandrayaan 3 mission hours before the touchdown despite it being an unmanned mission.

"If we are successful and make a safe landing, I salute the passengers. Our country has taken a step further in science and space research. I congratulate the countrymen for this," Rajasthan Sports Minister Ashok Chandna told reporters, reported PTI.

Chandrayaan-3 made a successful soft-landing on the Moon, making India only the fourth country to do so and the first to reach its uncharted south pole.
