Yogi Cabinet Expansion: Jitin Prasada & Sanjay Nishad To Be Inducted In UP Cabinet, Check Full List

According to sources, Jitin Prasada is likely to be inducted in the Yogi Adityanath cabinet ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections.

UP Elections 2021: Amid discussions over UP cabinet expansion ahead of the upcoming US assembly elections in 2022, sources have revealed that Jitin Prasada who joined the BJP a few months ago after leaving the grand old party Congress is likely to be inducted in the cabinet.

Sources have said that BJP wants to have a more Brahmin representation, hence Prasad was the first choice for the cabinet expansion.

Besides the three contenders from the Brahmin community, which the BJP is believed to be wooing ahead of the elections, another name that will be a part of the UP cabinet is Sanjay Nishad. He is a key ally of the BJP in UP can play an important role considering the Dalit votes in the state.

BJP is looking forward to having representation of all the communities to reach every section, community, and region of the state. Apart from the minister, Jitin Prasad can also be made an MLC.

Sources have also revealed that UP cabinet expansion may take place on August 31 or September 1.

At 54 ministers, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet can accommodate six more before it hits the limit of 60. At present, there are 23 cabinet ministers, 9 independent ministers,  and 22 ministers of state in the Yogi cabinet. So, the total number of ministers is 54. According to the rules, at present 6 ministerial posts are vacant.
