Opposition Got Atiq Ahmed Killed As He Was About To Reveal Secrets, Says UP Minister Dharampal Singh

The Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a three-member judicial inquiry commission to investigate the Atiq-Ashraf murder.

Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh on Saturday said that the opposition parties got gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf killed as they feared he would reveal their secrets to the public, reported news agency PTI. Ahmed, who was 60-year-old, was shot dead along with his brother Ashraf by three people disguising as mediapersons on April 15. The incident took place when police personnel were escorting the duo to a medical college in Prayagraj for a check-up.

Singh, as quoted by PTI, said, "The truth is that the opposition is involved in getting Atiq killed. Some serious secrets were about to be revealed, that's why the opposition got him murdered.” He was speaking on the sidelines of the BJP workers' conference for the Chandausi civic polls.

Notably, the Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a three-member judicial inquiry commission to investigate the matter. Both the gangsters were brought to Prayagraj from Gujarat and Bareilly prisons for interrogation in connection with the killing of Umesh Pal and his two police security guards.

Meanwhile, after their killings, terrorist organisation al Qaeda has threatened to seek revenge, calling the deceased mafia brothers as "martyrs".

In a 7-page magazine purportedly released by al Qaeda, the terrorist organisation mentions alleged atrocities and persecution of Muslims all over the world. It says that al Qaeda is saddened by all these incidents and that it will avenge each and every case.

The magazine also mentioned the murder of Atiq and Ashraf Ahmed. "Muslims were martyred in front of live television cameras by aiming guns on their heads in Uttar Pradesh," the magazine reads.
According to a report by the Hindustan Times, the seven-page magazine was released by As-Sahab, the propaganda media wing of al Qaeda.

"We shall stay the hand of the oppressor— be it in the White House or the prime minister’s house in Delhi or GHQ in Rawalpindi. From Texas to Tihar to Adyala — we shall liberate all Muslim brothers and sisters from their shackles," the text reads, as quoted by the report.
