Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Receives Death Threat, This Time On 'Dial 112'. Probe On

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has once again received a death threat and this time it was on 'Dial 112'.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has once again received a death threat. This time, an unknown person sent a message to 'Dial 112' threatening CM Yogi Adityanath. Security agencies have been alerted after the threat and they have started investigating the matter. A case has been registered against an unknown person in the Sushant Golf City police station area under sections 506 and 507 IPC and 66 IT Act.

As per the information, on the night of April 23, a message was received on WhatsApp number of 'Dial 112'. This message was picked up by the communication officer Shikha Awasthi, in which CM Yogi was threatened with death. Awasthi took a screenshot of the message and immediately informed the senior officer about it. Now, police are trying to trace the accused.

Notably, this comes days after mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead in police custody by three assailants while they were being taken for routine medical check-ups in Prayagraj. The entire state was put on high alert and security across Prayagraj and Lucknow was beefed-up.

Not First Threat To CM Yogi Adityanath

This is not the first time that CM Yogi Adityanath has been threatened like this. He has been threatened many times. A week ago, he was threatened with death through Facebook. The Facebook post was shared from the profile of Aman Raza of Baghpat. In the post, the man threatened to shoot CM Yogi. The police swung into action soon after the post went viral and arrested the accused.

In April only, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had received a death threat. According to reports, an anonymous caller dialed the control room of the Maharashtra police and issued a death threat, stating, "I will blow up Eknath Shinde," before disconnecting the call abruptly.

The Maharashtra police received a call on the emergency control number 112, in which the caller threatened to blow up the state's Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

After receiving the threatening call, the police immediately sprung into action and traced the caller's location. The Pune police subsequently arrested the caller, who is a resident of Mumbai's Dharavi area.

During the interrogation, it was revealed that the caller was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the call.

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut had also received a threat message in April. The threat was sent from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which said he would be murdered in Delhi the way Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala was, as reported by news agency ANI. According to the police, Sanjay Raut filed a complaint and a probe is underway.
