UP: 11 Dead, 10 Injured After Truck Rams Into Parked Bus Carrying Devotees In Shahjahanpur
The accident took place when the truck collided with a bus that was parked at a roadside dhaba and overturned on it.
Eleven people lost their lives and ten were injured after a truck rammed into a bus carrying devotees to Uttarakhand and overturned on top of it, the police told news agency ANI.
The bus was enroute Purnagiri, Uttarakhand and the incident occurred in Shahjahanpur district, which comes under the jurisdiction of Khatur police station.

In the visuals the rescue team and police can be seen with a crane, which was used to move the truck to pull out pilgrims that were crushed under it.
The truck, loaded with ballast stones, collided with the bus that was parked at a roadside dhaba, overturning on top of it and crushing the devotees to death.
The devotees who were in the bus are said to be residents of Jetha village, situated in Sitapur district, which comes under Kamlapur police station area.
Following the incident, the Superintendant of Police, Shahjahanpur, Ashok Kumar Meena, stated that the information about the accident was received by the police at 11:00 PM on Saturday.
"Around 11 pm, we got the information that in the Khutar PS area, a bus was parked, devotees who were going to Purnagiri were sitting inside the bus and some devotees were having food at a dhaba. A truck lost control and turned turle on top of the bus...total 11 people died and 10 were injured."
The injured people have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment, SP Meena told ANI.
The victims mostly include women and children. The rescue operation lasted for around three hours, during which several bodies were pulled out from under the truck, India Today reported.
Further probe into the incident is currently underway.
