UP Woman Dies After Bandage Left In Stomach During Operation. Doctor Booked, Locals Protest

Based on a complaint by a man who alleged that his wife died due to negligence of a doctor, a case was registered and a probe is on, said CO VK Rana.

New Delhi: Locals in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district took to the streets after a woman died allegedly due to bandage left inside her stomach during operation, reported ANI. As per the report, based on a complaint by a man who alleged that his wife died due to negligence of a doctor, a case was registered and a probe is on, said CO VK Rana.

The incident comes days after a doctor in Bans Kheri village of the district had allegedly left a towel inside a woman’s stomach after she was admitted to the hospital post labour pain. A probe was initiated into the case by Chief Medical Officer Rajeev Singhal, the news agency had reported.

As per the CMO, the doctor, Matloob, allegedly left the towel in the belly of Nazrana after conducting her operation at Saifee Nursing Home, which he used to run without permission in the Naugawana Sadat police station area in Amroha.

According to the report, the towel was left inside the patient's stomach due to negligence of the medical staff. The woman who complained of abdominal pain was kept admitted in the hospital for five more days citing that she was experiencing stomach pain due to cold weather conditions outside.

When her health did not improve even after coming home, her husband Shamsher Ali took her to another private hospital in Amroha where they came to know about the real truth behind Narana's stomach ache and after another operation, got the towel removed.

However, Shamsher Ali did not lodge any written complaint in the matter, the CMO assured that the investigation will take place.
