President Kovind To Inaugurate Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, CM Yogi To Become Chancellor

President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate two universities in Gorakhpur on Saturday. CM Yogi Adityanath will become the chancellor of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate two universities in Gorakhpur on Saturday. Out of these, he will inaugurate Mahayogi Gorakhnath University. The University University, run by Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad, an educational institution of Gorakhnath Temple, will be a milestone for students pursuing a career in the field of medicine in Purvanchal.

The Mahayogi Gorakhnath University has been built in Sonbarsa. Along with MBBS, students will have an option to select from 30 subjects in the next five years. Nursing and paramedical courses are already going on. From this session, 100 seats for the BAMS course will be available and admissions will begin for the same. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will become its chancellor as soon as the university is inaugurated.

Major General Dr Atul Bajpai, the Vice-Chancellor of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University said that the Chancellor of the university is Mahant Yogi Adityanath. Dr Atul Bajpai has been made the Vice-Chancellor and Dr Pradeep Rao is the Registrar. 600 children are already pursuing education in a nursing college run by Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad, an educational institution of Gorakshpeeth on campus. Admission of 150 students to BAMS will be done in his session. Other vocational courses will be conducted from the next session. 52 acres of land has been provided to this university. It will be expanded later.

Dr Pradeep Rao, Registrar, Mahayogi Gorakhnath University said that The Chairman and former Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad, Prof. UP Singh has been made the Chancellor. Major General Dr Atul Vajpayee has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of this private university. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wants to establish Mahayogi Gorakhnath University as an ideal university. Teaching will also start with admissions to the university from this session. The proposed draft of the University Working Committee has also been prepared.

Dr Pradeep Rao, Principal, Maharana Pratap PG College Jungle Dhusad, Gorakhpur has been appointed as the Registrar. Dr Rao said the working committee has eight members. Dr Rao said that in addition, Dr C.M. Sinha and Dr S.N. Singh have been placed in the Working Committee on the recommendation of the Chief Minister. On behalf of the State Government, Joint Secretary Higher Education Brahmadev, on behalf of the University, Dr D.S. Ajitha, Principal, Guru Shri Gorakshanath College of Nursing, Prof. Shobha Gaur of Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University B.Ed. are included. 

Mahayogi Gorakhnath University will become the third university in the district. Regulating the land purchased for the university has been approved in a cabinet meeting in March. A high-level committee constituted by the government under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor of Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University had inspected the university campus. The university was found completely up to the standards of the government. In this university, which is being set up on 52 acres with state-of-the-art resources, students will get the option of pursuing market-oriented and vocational courses. At the same time, researchers will also be provided with a research facility.

These courses will be offered by the university

Students in the University can pursue BSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BDS, MBBS, BPharma (Ayurveda and Allopath), DPharma (Ayurveda and Allopath), BSc LT, BA/BSc Compound Science, BSc AG, BA Honours, BSc Honours (Math & Bio), BSc Computer, B.Com, B.Ed., B.Sc.-B.Ed, Ba-B.Ed, B.P.Ed., Certificate of Para-Medical, BCA, BBA, Diploma and Degree Course, Shastri Honours. The Gorakshpeeth, which has been spreading the light of education in eastern Uttar Pradesh for nearly nine decades, has created a new and huge beacon in the form of Guru Gorakhnath University. Service and self-reliance from education under the mantle of nationality and Indian culture will be its unique identity. Guru Gorakhnath University, which is set to be inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind, will significantly symbolize the Indian knowledge tradition under the guidance of CM Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath.

In the field of primary to higher and technical education, about four dozen educational institutions are run by Maharana Pratap Education Council serving under Gorakshapeeth. Yogi Adityanath, the current Chief Minister and leader of Gorakshapeeth envisaged an integrated university in the name of Guru Gorakhnath and has also made it a reality. He had already started the Guru Shri Gorakshanath School of Nursing in the field of medical education. Now the new University for specialized education of medical science with higher education options in the field of arts, science, commerce, and agriculture has been established.

BAMS to start soon with a capacity of 100 seats

Guru Gorakhnath University, which is developing as a new model of vocational education, will start the BAMS course for 100 seats from this session. It has also got recognition from the National Commission for the Indian System of Medicine. It will be managed by guru Gorakhnath Institute of Medical Sciences that is affiliated with the university. The process of admission to BSc and MSc Nursing, Post Basic BSc Nursing, ANM, GNM has been started here. From this session, the admission process of Diploma in Lab Technician, Diploma in Optometry, Diploma in Orthopaedic and Plaster Technician, Diploma in Emergency and Trauma Care Technician, Diploma in Dialysis Technician and Diploma in Anaesthesia and Critical Care Technician is also going to start. 

As the Chancellor of Guru Gorakhnath University, CM Yogi intends to conduct 30 new innovative and specialized courses, including MBBS, in the next five years, so that the university can be elevated to international standards. This multidimensional university of Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad is being developed as a hub of medical and para-medical education in addition to normal courses. All courses will be as per the requirements of the present and future era but will have a touch of Indianness.
